I recently did the trackbar upgrade. Now this clunk has just started. Seems to be as I pass the same approx. 2 o'clock position of the steering wheel the cluck happens and I feel a small jerk in the steering and through the wheel. Is this common after the trackbar upgrade? I figure just crawl under it while someone is steering back and forth. I fear something coming apart while driving.

Thanx

I don't know anything about the upgrade, but if it seems to be happening at the same position of the wheel, is it possible that something is hitting something else? Even a small contact would be felt or heard. I would do like you are talking about and lay underneath while someone cycles the wheel and see if anything is making contact.

I bet you didnt tighten one of the bolts enough. Just go through and retorque them all.

Mike

Same thing happened to me when I replaced my trackbar. I didn't tighten the passenger side bolt enough. I don't know what the torque is supposed to be, but it needs to be TIGHT!

That one turned bit and the noise went away, but I can't find a torque spec on that one. Anyone got it?

per my 01 service manual the axle end bolt for the track bar is torqued to

130ft/lbs. Put a little dab of blue lock tight on it too, that is how it comes from the factory. I guess the movement at the axle end might loosen the bolt.

Hope this helps
