I decided to replace the 5 piece rear main seal this weekend, and opened up a can of worms. The pilot bushing was broken, and chunks of it were imbedded into the facing of the clutch disc. So rather than put the chattering, slipping into 3rd, worn out Sachs back in, its going to be clutch replacement time. I think I've narrowed it down to the SBC MU0090 Con O, or the stock 13" Sachs. I do not plan on towing over 8,000 lbs, yet the longevity of the SBC disc worries me. The chatter of the old Sachs was unacceptable in terms of drivability in traffic, and I'd like to avoid going through that again. If the 13" Sachs had a light pedal, and didn't have a tendency to chatter, I wouldn't be debating this. Any constructive input would be appreciated.
Also, does anybody know what the bearing number is that quad4x4 is selling for use as a pilot bearing? I'm guessing a BCA 304-FF.
