Hey all,

I smoked my clutch a couple of weeks ago at a pull, not bad though, it still appears to be okay for now. But I want to go ahead and get a new after market clutch. What do you all think about the South-Bend Con-O ? Should I replace the flywheel while I am in there ? what other upgrades should I do while I have the transmission out ? I only want to do this one time, and I am thinking of adding some more horsey's later baybe up to the 450 area. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

How difficult is the 5th gear fix ?

I wouldn't try the 5th gear fix in your driveway--you have to disassemble the mainshaft "Christmas tree" and have the trans on a bench. A local place here in LV does the clutch for about $275, or clutch with 5th gear mainshaft for about $400, good workmanship. The clutch isn't real driveway friendly either due to weight etc. involved. I'm sure there are places in Ca. that can do a good job, but there are others on the list who have reported high prices and problems--shop carefully. Contact me off line if you want more info on the 5th gear, or the clutch I am using.
