I'm going to start making some power mods to my truck. I'm thinking about starting with a comp box. I've already got the gages in. I'm concerned about my stock clutch and really don't want to be stuck on the side of the road. What brand of clutch would hold up best. I've seen a lot of posts about the south bend units and was thinking about going that way. Also how much time should i be planning for changing it out. I consider myself to be a pretty fair "shade tree mechanic" but i've never messed with a manual trans other than to change the fluids.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

MRiley-
South Bend Clutch is the way to go, give them a shout they will help you with every question that you can think of concerning upgrading your clutch set-up... ... As far as how much time it should take? How fast can you work? Not that bad a deal to take on if you have the right equipment ... .....

Go with a Southbend of your choice, you will never look back. As for changing it yourself, its no different than any other trans/clutch job except for the size of the NV5600. Don't be fooled and get yourself hurt. This bad boy is big and dosen't like to be manhandled. Just plan on having proper jacking tools and you will be OK.
