This is my first post to this awsome group

I have a 96 2500 4X4, 5 speed, totally stock except for the smoke screen nut is wond tight. .

Just wondering what the engine temp. is when the clutch starts to engage on the engine fan?

Thanks for all the previous posts everyone. This is the most informative place on the net!!!

Mine engages very rarely at about 200°, it takes a hill, a load and a 95° day to do it. When your fan engages you will definitely know it, it makes plenty of noise and pulls around 22 HP.

Mine on a 95 degree day starts to kick in around 185 on the facory gauge. And this is not pulling anything, just running the air and tooling down the road about 65 MPH. Is this to low? Or is my factory gauge off that much?

As far as I know, my fan has never turned on! It gets to 115 degrees all the time here. Even with the AC on, my temps never get to 200. Of course I'm unloaded. I guess I need to make sure it still works.
