Driving in to work this morning, started hearing a bad bearing sound. It sounds like a throwout bearing to me; the sound changes when I push the clutch pedal down but doesn't go away when I let the pedal up. I'm wondering if I need to look more towards the pilot bearing or input bearing in the Getrag. The truck has 136K miles; according to the previous owner the Getrag was changed at 85K miles. I can see a "Dodge Reman" tag on the gearbox, so it has been changed at some point. Any advice, or just tear the rascal out and look at it? Remove trans and transfer together or split first? Never worked on anything quite this big, boss!!!
