Hey Guys,

Thanks for coming through for me in times before that I needed yall.

I have this problem, and It really has me bummed out.

My Clutch is no longer dis-engaging.

It's a longish story but here is the shorter version. (though still long)

Wednesday night,, going across town, stopped at a redlight, clutch in, 1st gear.

While stopped, it felt like somebody bumped me, then started lightly pushing me,, then the truck experianced a little bit of chatter, I finally figured out it was my clutch engaging, and had to yank Hard to get it out of 1st gear.

Then when I got into Neutral, I let out the clutch and the put came up very soggy, and only about half way. I stuck my foot under it, and pulled it up, and it worked fine for the night,, although I never helt the clutch in for very long.

Well today came my big scare.

I was sitting at a very busy intersection, waiting to take a left. I was with my 14yr old cousin. I was sitting in 1st gear, clutch in, and I was first in line at the redlight.

As I was sitting there, the clutch decided it was time to engage, and It shot me forward about 5 feet, well I hit the brakes really hard and killed the engine,, Pulled the truck into Neutral and re-started it. Well, about this time the light turns green, I push the clutch in again, try for second gear I get in, but WAY before I was ready to take off,, the clutch lets out again, and now I am nearly Perfectly in the MIDDLE of this very BUSY intersection. trying to get any gear, but the clutch won't dis-engage, and I can't get any gear. SO there I am,, Fumbling around, and to keep my story Short, I did a few wierd things until I figured I could turn my truck off,, stick it in 1st gear then start the engine,, well Off I was, taking off, chirping tires, and the truck jerking back and forth.

I got home. everytime I had to stop, I just turned off the truck and had to start off in gear. and shift without the clutch.

Well, There isn't a leak anywhere on my truck, the Clutch fluid is clean, and full. But the clutch pedal isn't doing anything, I just goes to the floor. I can hear the hydralic fluid swishing around somewhere, but aperrantly it isn't doing anything.

So now my truck is sitting in the shop, waiting for the parts to be found.

I need this truck by Monday Morning at 6:00 A. M. Hopefully the shop can get it done by then.

Anybody have had this happen?

I read earlier that it had happened to atleast one other person.

An comments would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch for letting me tell you my story.

 I picked my truck up on a Thursday and Friday night on the way home it started messing up. I nursed it to the selling dealer and I waited for 1 and a half weeks to get new truck back on road. I questioned my desicion to dump the auto for nanasecond. My slave cyl moulded plastic feed line split on the seem. A weird defect in the peice of tubeing on my new truck. Karma baby. My clutch fluid resivour (SP) was empty and there was a spot on the ground. Haven't had a bit of problem since.

Are you sure there wer no leaks? My slave cylinder blew without warning as I stepped on the pedal to downshift coming up to an intersection. Had to start the truck in gear to drive it home. As soon I felt the "pop" in the pedal I knew it was the slave, and quickly peeked under the truck to verify.

However, with your truck easing itself into engagement,it sounds like a clutch master cylinder problem to me.

Nope, No leaks.

Thanks,

So far my truck will be fixed by Saturday night.

The dealer quoted me $303 for parts, and $72/hr for 3. 2 hrs

Which was going to be more than $230 for labor.

Well a local shop here. SOUTH TEXAS AUTO ordered the parts overnight for me, and paid $220 for it.

So far I am un-sure of how much labor they will charge for.

I'll keep you guys up-dated on my truck.

ok. South Texas Auto recieved the wrong part.

I am heading to Performance Diesel in Corpus Christi tomorow, after Church.

He has the part in stock, and said he would put it in for me,, even on Sunday. Didn't want to make somebody work on Sunday but I NEED the truck by Monday.

I'll post back either Sunday night, or about a week from now.

:)
