Is the factory clutch in the 03 H. O. six speed 373 rear gear good for more power or should I just go ahead and change it out before it smokes. If so with what and where do I get it and how much $? Im thinking about MORE POWER! "Yea" I know! but hey lifes too short. And my trailer weight is over 12 k lbs. Just say 75 more HP and 200 more lbs of torque for atotal of 380hp and 750-800 lbs at the crank shaft should not hurt or would it? Will the clutch take it or not? Hit me! Billy and Jackie Adams :D

I think the stock clutch should hold for a while but I'd plan on replacing it. I've always liked the South Bend the best but there are others. For a little better drivability and if you don't plan on an insane amount of power go with a Con-OFE. I bought my Con-FE from Mark at texas diesel works.

Billy,

Most of the "experts" say they will handle another 70 hp or so. I think that it will vary from unit to unit. Feeling lucky? I intend to try it, so I guess I'll find out.

My stock clutch slips with the Bully box on the high setting in 5th an 6th gear pretty much on command. Some days are better than others. Others say thier clutch holds fine with the Bully box but I wasn't that lucky. Anything over 100 hp, I would be looking into getting a Southbend.
