After reading prior posts on clutchs I decided to reuse my OE Sachs 13 in do to the soft pedal and my weak left leg, but on close inspection the disc lining is flaking off. Can not find just the disc to purchase, and $400. to $700. for a complete package is not an option when I have a new 2nd Gen 12 1/4 on the shelf. The only reason I don't want to use the 2nd Gen is with one in my other W350 it killed my leg an low back when backing up trailers in particular. They don't seem bad in a 2nd Gen, so I wonder if there is a difference in the master or slave cylinders ? Venders on ebay list them sold separately and as different part numbers. How do you connect them ? I thought you could only buy Dodge slave, master, and plastic line as a one piece unit ? I am old school where all those parts were metal. Any feed back on a source of a good used or rebuilt 13 in disc, or a solution to the hard pedal 2nd Gen clutch would be welcome. Really need my 4x4 back together, it's been too long waiting for parts as is. thanks, Will

Hey Will, give Peter at South Bend Clutch a call. Explain your situation and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out in one way or another...

Call around and see if there is someone nearby that does brake and clutch re-lining. Check your yellow pages under clutches.

Thanks for the sugestion Travis. I have had no luck with that so far. I do my own brake shoes on obsolete projects, and know the best ' do it yourself guys' in the area. I know it was done in the past on tractor clutch disc as I have some NOS lining for a Massey 44, but can't find any 13 in or the correct rivets. All I can find under clutch on the net are complete package and usually 12 1/4 style. Keep the sugestions coming. thanks, Will

Howdy Folks, Have a 91. 5 Dodge-Cummins that needs a new clutch at 175,000. Sent an e-mail to South Bend Clutch last week and have heard nothing from them. Any ideas for contacts? Need to do a bunch of other repairs and maint. to this rig. Needs to last a while, cant afford a replacement. Thanks for your help. Greg
