I just finished installing a new SB OFE clutch in my 02 2500 4x4. While the truck is not running I can row through the gears. Once the truck is started it won't go into gear. New pilot bearing & throw out bearing. Install went pretty much without a hitch other than a little while to get the input shaft started. I also installed new SB hydraulics last week BEFORE the new clutch and everything worked fine. Also if I put the truck in gear and start it the clutch wants to disengage just above the floor. It was suggested to pump the clutch pedal several times at wait a few and do it again and again, to "reset" the SB hydraulics. I did this 4 or 5 times and it may have helped a little but is still a bear to get into any gear easily. The pedal pressure seems fine other than it is defiantly easier that the stock setup. Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Phil

I'm pretty sure that it's installed right. I paid close attention and double checked that the numbers on the fork were installed to the passenger lower side below the ball stud.

try adjusting the rod under the dash for more travel! Also get ya some "HYPER LUBE" and put in the transmission,SBC reccomended!!

Start it with the transmission in 5th a couple of times and ease out on the pedal and let the plates wear the sharp edges off a little, it will probably free up. bg

Well after driving it around today, the clutch engagement is about right, in the middle to upper pedal travel. I'm going to change the fluid and see if that helps trying to get it to go into reverse easier. At this point it is tough to get into reverse. Forward gears are getting better though.

I have the same problem after new clutch install could hardly get it in gear replaced the hydraulics with oem dodge parts changed the fluid and added slick-em the last 2 helped a little but it is still rough to get into reverse. So if anybody has the cure i am all ears... ... ... ... . Bodine

For me what actually helped is patience. I have 600+ miles on her now and the shifting is better than stock. The clutch must be seating as it is starting to chatter a little under light pedal when starting from a stop. All is well! You don't say how many miles you have on yours but mine started getting better after a couple days of driving it around town.
