I did a search and found others who have had the same thing. When starting out, the pedal has a hang up somewhere in the middle of its throw. Also, it clicks on occasion at the bottom. I took the truck in to get this looked at and of course "we can't replicate the problem". I have noticed that it happens more when it is warm, and weirdly enough, when i am trying to back up. Its done it since it had a couple thousand miles on it and its now got 14k and seems to be getting worse. If any of you have had this looked at and maybe fixed, i would appreciate any answers so that i can take this with me back to the dealer as it is driving me nuts! Thanks!

The clicking at the bottom is usually the clutch lever hitting the clutch position switch that sits in the master rod. Nothing to worry about. Not sure about your other probem though.

The click at the bottom is probably what Jeff refferred to, but it could also be the clutch pedal hitting that little metal backstop they put on the firewall.

If it's binding on release it could be a pressure plate problem being transmitted through the clutch hydraulic system. But since you don't indicate any other transmission problems, maybe it's a master cylinder problem. First, check to be sure the clutch fluid is full. Other than that, I'd wait until it becomes almost undriveable... then the dealer will have a harder time "not replicating" it.

try spraying some lube on the shaft in the cab that presses against the clutch master cylinder... mine sometimes gets stiff/sticky and a little spray lube on the linkage and pushtube helps out quite a bit... sprayed it 2-3 times in 23,000km...

When it's hot out (>80*F) mine will make a strange sound when I push in the pedal. Kind of like two rubber bushings are rubbing together.

I am waiting on a hot day when I can take it right over to the dealer to show them the problem.

Mine will sometimes lag a little in the free play area of the clutch throw. In other words, when I make a shift and release the clutch placing my foot where it should be, a split second later I feel the pedal meeting my foot. I wouldn't call it a bind, but it does lag after the pressure plate has fully released.

Anything similar?

I'm supposed to take the truck back in Thursday to have it looked at again. Mine has the power adjustable pedals and i thought it could be something to do with that as i adjusted them to where i thought the linkage would be in the least of a bind and it seemed to help a little at first, but then it kept doing it. The more i look at it the more i feel it is the rod going in getting in a small bind as there is some side to side movement as well.

Ditto on that one I used Silicone on the linkage in the cab went away once it worked in.

Mac

You said that it does it more when you are backing up... could it be that when you are twisting your body to look behind you you maybe twisting the pedal with your leg putting it in the bind you speak of. just a thought
