Anybody had to replace the rubber bushings on their pedals. ? My clutch went to the floor with just enough to change gears and the pedal is really loose,It looks like they built the truck from the firewall out. Not looking forward to standing on my head to R&R. Anyone have any tips/shortcuts??

Hello there RBeard,

I may be misunderstanding your post, but the only bushings associated with the clutch pedal is a plastic bushing between the pedal and the pivot pin. Failure of this bushing would not cause your pedal to go to the floor. It would make your pedal a bit "wobbly" and probably make it squeak.

If your pedal is all the way down with very little travel then I would say the hydraulics have failed. They are sold as a complete sealed unit. I would suggest the South Bend HD Hydraulics.

In addition to those on the cross rod, I believe there is also a bushing in the clutch master cylinder actuator rod, where it attached to the clutch pedal... . I've had several that have been worn down to where they weren't depressing the rod all the way, as they should... . IF the rod is worn, it will have to be removed and either built up by welding or replaced with another pedal... . The rod on the master cylinder is usually what wears first, and if it's not worn, you can just replace the bushing.

found E-clip had came off or was never put on shaft. Shaft had worked it's way out enough to make pedal just hang with no leverage. replaced bushings (plastic BS little round thingys) and reassembled. feels like power assisted clutch now!! Thanks for the replies.
