Actually, I would rather send a whole new one to make sure we rule out anything else. Better safe then sorry. Besides, the gash in the hub that you mentiond will be replaced at the same time.

Thanks Peter.

I assume you have my address from the prior shippment? The female UPS driver is going to bust her gut again :D

I had the same problem that you guys are mentioning when I first installed my SBC DD. Clutch all the way to the floor and you could feel sometime hitting that vibrated the clutch pedal. I think someone hit the nail on the head with the fingers "over extending. " For the time being I drove it as usual just didn't push the clutch down that far.

I talked it out with Peter and replaced my clutch master & slave assembly and the problem disappeared entirely. However it still does it when I get done with a sled pull and quickly mash the clutch pedal to the firewall. :-laf

You guys with 3rd Gen DD's need to replace your slave/master setup with a bigger one for a 97 12V that will take the extra abuse of the DD. You can even get a adjustable one from Peter @ SBC. If you don't your just on borrowed time with the OEM slave, ask JWilliams3 ;) :p

After reading all this I got paranoid and ran out the door jumped in the truck push in the clutch and ran the engine up to 2800. No more vibration than stock. No clicking noise when pushed to the floor or anything. I've had mine in the truck about as long as hasselbach. I've got the 3600# pulling clutch. I have yet to change out my slave cylinder, but it is in the box on the work bench waitig on a rainy day. It is a little grabby when tring to back a trailer and you hold the pedal only 1/2. Nothing I can't live with. Its great though when you can have your TST turned up a bit and lay into to pass somebody and it just goes or when you do that 3rd gear launch at 2800 rpm and it just chirps the tires and goes. No slip not ever. Just can't wait to sling a u-joint.

I think my situation is slightly different. I know several have the problem with the fingers getting hit. In my case, if would vibrate even just 1 inch depressed. I do have the 97 slave too.

I'll have to see what happens when I replace it. Maybe I have a uneven pressure plate. You really feel it as you mash the pedal, from start to finish at higher rpms, not just at the end of the travel on the pedal.

Great replies from all. , Thanks for the input.

And regardless of what anyone thinks, that right there is why I own a SouthBend clutch :)

I second that!!! First one was a CON FE, thought I would save some money. Now I still had to replace it with a DD. Should have just done it from the get go. Lee.
