Hello all,

I have a little noise that comes from the clutch pedal.

I hear a pop sound when foot pushes on the pad.

Trans shifts great and the clutch is holding up so far.

I think it is in the pad on the pedal itself, but I cann't reproduce

it when I am sitting still.

It has only happened 3-4 times.

I am stumped.

Has anybody had this little anoyance?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

My pedal makes all sorts of noises. Sometimes it is a pop and sometimes it is a creak. I know it is from the arm pivot like it is dry or there is play in the bushings. We have the same noises in the F#rd Souper Dooties at work, the fix replace the entire pedal assembly including the mounting bracket.

Clutch Noise

Found squeek and binding sound was fixed by lubing plastic bushing and steel pin with spray silicone, it'll last about 6 months or remove keeper and pin and grease with white grease, that will last about 7 months. Loosen slave master from firewall, makes getting pin loose easier. (6 mo. fix much easier!)

Pop may be pedal pad. a little WD40 will tell you real quickly.

cluth squeak

C D Day,

I too have that squeak. Where is the plastic bushing. Under the hood or under the dash.

Thanks for the info

Up under the dash you have a large steel pin that the clutch and brake pedal pivot on. There is a "C" clip on the clutch side, that if removed, the whole pin can be removed. The plastic bushings are in pedals and they ride on that pin.

The spray lube sounds like an easier fix, though.

Squeek

Cobra: Bighammer is right on the mark. Remove the knee pannel, and using a flash light you can see the clutch lever system. All I do is spray the end of the pivot pin while working the clutch. Then loosen the clutch master cylinder from the firewall (under the hood) work the pin and plastic bushing while spraying with lube. I use silicone 'cause it doesn't make a mess.
