So while driving and shifting into 4th(not hauling anything). The clutch pedal just went down to the floor and stayed there. So I just (tonight) replaced the clutch hydraulics with the South Bend kit, when I tried to start it I had the clutch pressed all the way to the floor and in 2nd gear the truck felt like it wanted to move forward. With the clutch still to the floor it wouldn't come out of gear. The only time I could get it out of gear was when the truck was off. So just for the hell of it I put it back into 2nd and eased off the clutch to see when it would engage, that only took about 1/4" of lift from the floor. I'm thinking the throwout is broke in someway... Any thoughts or other questions would be appreciated! Thanks.

How much pedel pressure are you feeling? I'm thinking that you've inverted the spring fingers. You might want to call Peter and talk to him again.

The linkage is adjustable. Lengthen the rod (unscrew) between the pedal and the master cylinder to get some more travel before the pedal hits the floor.

Change mine out last week... 2 things. 1) Make sure when you bleed the system the line on the fire wall (up from the transmission to the resevoir) has a 6" "U" bend that traps air. 2) make sure your Clutch Master Cylinder is tilted up at a 45 degrees toward the resevoir. Sounds like you have an air lock.

I had the rod hanging off the last thread to all the way in and neither of those seemed to fix the engagement problem. I guess the South Bend slave/master cylinder kit is already prebled so it's just a drop in thing. But yes the reservoir was all the way up, when I pulled the cap and rubber out it came to about 3/8" from the top. Talked to Peter (SBC) today, and he thought that there was something going on with the clutch. All in all, I was planning on doing the clutch in June so I guess this is just way early and at a bad time(monster storm coming in!) Thanks for the replies guys! Will let you know what the autopsy comes up with...
