i have a 98 12v with a haisley street puller clutch and billet input shaft, i've had the clutch for a year now no problems and have never towed or pulled. last night the clutch began sticking. i came up to a light had it in 2nd gear went to take off and the truck jumped foward and stalled. i was unable to to get the truck out of gear while the engine was running and when i had the pedal pushed all the way down it still wanted to take off. i had to shut the truck off and hit the pedal real fast to get it to come back up then it would drive fine. there is nothing wrong with the pedal it works fine i'm thinking it's the hydraulics anyone have any ideas

I am wondering. Did you grease the throw out bearing shaft when installed. just a thought. Sounds more like you need a slave cylinder. I would get both a slave and master. Mine had almost the same problem, replaced both and problem went away.

ps. fill out you signiture, so we know what you got.

i didn't install the clutch, van, curt and terry did. i was thinking it was probably the slave cylinder i'll have to go look at it today. i was unable to fill out my signature they don't have enough room for all my mods.

Might want to consider the pressure plate also. I had the fingers that the throw out bearing press against break off not allowing the clutch to disengage. Food for thought? A slave cylinder would be cheaper and easier, Good luck.

well it's fixed put the new haydraulics in and it fixed the problem. the only problem i have now is that the master cylinder is not locking into place like it is suppose to.

My clutch was dragging as well so I replaced the hydraulics with new ones from south bend. There is a rubber washer on the new master cylinder that is thinner than my stock washer so I swapped them out... ... ... . with the thin washer the MS wouldn't lock securely but now it does.

Even though I changed it out last night it still doesn't want to disengage properly like it did when new. Pedal all the way to the floor and it can be tough to get into 1st or 2nd, plus I can tell it's still dragging going into other gears. It actually feels worse with the new slave & master. Any pointers?

Waylan

edit: I just got off the phone with Peter. He said the rod on their master cylinder is threaded on the eyelet end and I probably just need to adjust that to get correct disengagement.
