Can you install a stock clutch off of an 01 HO (13" clutch big input shaft) on a 99 truck if you change to the bigger shaft? I've already got a 13" flywheel off of another truck (was bought as an upgrade from the 12. 25 for the previous owner).

Yep... Sure can. Input shaft must be for the transmission in the 99... . 5 speed NV4500 transmission or 6 speed NV5600 transmission.

the input shaft has to be the '01 spec 1 3/8 shaft to work with the '01 flywheel and clutch. The issue might be whether the starter will work with the flywheel. One uses a spacer and the other did not.

So the input shaft from an 01 (1 3/8") will install into a NV4500 transmission (in the 1999 truck)? I thought the larger input shaft for a 5 spd was a custom thing? Probably wrong though.

You got 2 choices, either get another 13" disc from SBC with the 1-1/4" hub, or change the input shaft to the "Custom" 1-3/8" shaft, they aren't cheap! The one out of the 5600 does not fit the 4500. I changed to the 13" OFE with the 1-1/4" hub, and had to use the spacer for the starter, came with the kit. :D
