A friend of mine has a 99 5spd w/ 275’s and a 3-way adjustable Edge. He is slipping the clutch with this combo fairly easy with it on three. When I calculated out his HP from ET and end speed/weight I came up with 330’ish rwhp?

Any thoughts or comments?

P. S. I'm trying to talk him into becoming a member, Roger are you reading this?

I have a question

Are those the only BOMB's? Is his truck a 2500 or 3500? I've got that setup on my truck and I can't make the clutch slip! At least not yet :D Based on some of my G-Tech readings, I'm in the area of 250 RWHP, but that was on a very hot day. I want to try it again soon in cooler weather. Your HP numbers sound a bit high, but I will confess to not being an expert in this area. TIA

John,

His truck is a 99 2500 Quadcab, LWB, 4x4, 5 spd, 3. 55, 285 tires, 275 RV injectors, and a three way adjustable box (Edge?) that he said was called the "hot" version???? I think he bought it from someone who had advertised in the TDR classifieds.

I calculated his rwhp from, trap-averaged, speed and his "guess" on weight.

Yes, the clutch slips with this combo. It seemed to slip around 1800-2200 rpms.
