I had to do a clutch job a few weeks ago and didn't have time to order the SB. Since then whether in reverse or 1st or 2nd, I sometimes get a shudder when I start off. Its worse when I try to let off slow in first or reverse(when I'm moving the 9000lb trailer). If I go a head and release the clutch when it starts the shudder it stops and smooths out. And it doesn't do it all the time.

I was told that its the springs on the clutch loading and unloading causing it to shudder.

I was able to drive Kurt Yardleys truck with the heavy duty SB clutch and it didnt do what this one does. My concern is that when I am trying to move the trailer around it a camp spot and it starts to shudder. . I would think that there is a lot of pressure being put on the rest of the drive train.

The shop that put in the clutch is a friend of mine and I dont want to nit pick and be a pain in the rear but I also dont want to brake my truck!

I need some advice before I go and talk to my friend...

I assume you surfaced the flywheel? If not that can be the problem.

I went with the TST 1000lb clutch & pressure plate and it grabbed something terrible.

They told me to run the rpm up to around 1200 with the brake on and let it slip for about 5 seconds. I did this a few times and now its smooth.

Hope this helps.

I can hold the brake and let the clutch out slow and it does not shudder!!!! But release the clutch slow and start to move and there is times that I have to clutch it again to stop the shudder.

And yes the flywheel was surfaced...
