I think the little black plastic clutch slave is leaking as fluid is dripping off of it and onto my floor-mats. Drips are getting quite frequent now so I figured I'd better look into fixing it. Can I pull it apart and replace something as simple as an o-ring, or does the whole unit need to be replaced. Anyone else had this problem?

TIA,

Stephan

Sounds like the master cyl the slave is under the truck. I think you need to replace . From what I here you can get just the master cyl at NAPA. Dealer only sells complete assembly.

To clarify, it appears that the clutch fluid resevior feeds fluid in to this, and it has a line / cable going out to the clutch, and this thing is also connected to the clutch pedal. This is called the master cylinder? (Just checking so we don't confuse brake master cylinder with clutch components).

Thanks, much appreciated,

Stephan

The master is on the firewall with the push rod feeding through the wall to your clutch pedal. The slave is mounted on the bellhousing. If you look closely at the tube, you will see tiny roll pins where the tube enters both cylinders. You can change either by driving the pin out. NAPA carries both units OEM. Excellent time to flush out the system if you have a warm place to work.

I just went to Napaonline 124 for the c. master and 71+ for the slave. . just go to the dealer and buy the complete unit, bled, filled with fluid and ready to install in nothing flat for about the same price. 200+/-

Send me a PM, I know a customer who was "parts" changing and has a slightly used one for sale. I bet it could be had for a hundred or less. If new is out of the budget for ya.
