For the clutch slave that mounts to the side of the bellhousing, there is a rod that goes to the throwout bearing fork.

Upon pulling mine apart and comparing it to one that I have on my shelf, 1 is longer than the other. What gives? I thought they were all the same? Only conclution I came to is 2 vs 4wd.

Anyone have any thoughts? Will both work? IS there more than 2 different lengths? Am I missing something? Again?:-laf

Thanks!

yep happened to me and a friend on our trucks. We had words with dodge and they said that the short fork rods were the same in all thier kits. we went through four kits and they all had the short rods. We just reused our old ones and they are still working fine.

I'd say keep the longer one in there. It will effectively reduce the volume of fluid in there, making your plunger stroke move the slave cylinder rod farther.

That is just what I did. Only after did I start wondering why there were two lengths and if I made the right choice... .
