While towing my 5th wheel (10,000 lbs) on a flat section of highway, it appears that my clutch is slipping. I'll be going along at 65 mph, 1900 rpm, and 65 mph. The next thing I see is the rpm rapidly increase to about 2400 rpm and the truck slows down. I'll push the clutch pedal in and then release it. It takes a couple of seconds for the clutch to re-engage.
This has happened three times now. I'll tow up hill just fine without this happening. I've accelerated up hill just to test the clutch and it doesn't slip.
Any ideas of why I'm getting a slipping problem on level ground? Maybe it's not the clutch slipping????
