It finally gave up. It made it 40K and the biggest part was with the TST.

I am thinking of going with the southbend, but not sure, OFE or FE.

What are your thoughts? Which should I go with, and where should I go to get it?

Looking for the best deal on price and service.

Thanks.

I am running the SB confe. It has done a fine job for me. Peter at SB has also done a fine job. I recently purchased the SB dual disk, but i don't have it installed yet. The fe was fine, the mod's have just out grown it. Depending on where you plan on stopping with HP, will determine which one you should buy.

T-Cat, I would definitely call SouthBend and talk to them. They are great at asking the right questions and determining which clutch best suites your needs. Final horsepower goals, driving conditions, lots of stop-and-go... hwy, towing anything and if so how much and how long, etc, etc, are all important considerations. Call them, nothing beats talking to them personally.

Mine is the early 05. I wasn't sure if the G56 requires a different clutch than my NV5600.

I will probably give Southbend a call. I figured that only dealers could buy directly from them.

In the future I am planning on stacking, so I am leaning strongly toward the FE.

The FE at the least.

Same clutch on either transmission. Only difference between them is the G56 kit comes with a new flywheel to replace the dual mask stocker. The pressure plates and friction plates are identical from South Bend. Great guys to work with, great product. With the FE you may experience a little grab if you tow heavy, but I have heard traction bars tend to help that. The dual disk hooks up SMOOTH, but can be a little noisy. Either way you go, make sure to get the upgraded hydraulic kit also!

Give SBC a call and discuss with them exactly what you want to do and how you drive. You can get it from them or from one of the fine vendors on this site. Towing, racing, just for play?

My OFE got me to 500hp and thats playing around... When I got to 600hp, the OFE held but did not like any more than usual racing. That is, I could drag race if I started in 2nd... The turbo lighting would not slip it...

Side-stepping 3rd gear to fry the tire however, WILL slip it :)
