The clutch has slipped a couple times at highway speeds pulling my parents RV. Not sure why the RV, I have hauled heavier loads since. I run my smarty Jr on Perf with an He351 turbo set to ~35 psi max boost. I have it on stock torque management to save my tires on the gravel roads.

What clutch would be the best for me considering cost a factor. My Dad put in a Luk in his '03 last year. I would like something that can handle the torque my truck puts out now. Some guys said I would be ok. It was ok for a while. Now I have to pay. Oh well that means I must have over 800ft lbs of TQ right.

Wow, with your mods I'm surprised it didn't slip before this! I've got the popular SBC ConOfe and it works as well as any performance clutch. It gets a bit grabby and you have to slip it a couple of times and then it behaves for a while.

I did a little searching and found the Con OFE its rated for 475hp and 100ft lbs. I should be safe with that. It was ~$500. Did you slip yours and then get the OFE?

I also found a Valair rated for more power for a similar price. Its NMU 70279-04.

I just went thru the same thing, I was able to overpower my clutch with the SJR on #2.

I went with a CON OFE and its a great clutch.

I ordered my CON OFE directly from South Bend. I would highly recommend getting their flywheel as well. I didn't have access to a decent place to resurface the old one plus they have a much better pilot bearing. I also got their hydraulics kit. Clutch works okay but it is real grabby and quite jerky when backing a heavy trailer.

Has anyone had a prbolem with the South Bend clutch G56 Cofekit becoming grabby in the hot humid summer? I spoke with the guys at SB and they said to sip it once in a while but it will grab again later that same day. It's almost like the flywheel or perssure plate is getting some rust on it and it grabs?? any thoughts??/
