How much are these 6. 7 stock clutches holding when you start adding power to them. I would like add programmer or chip down the road and was wondering how far we are able to go with the stock clutch. For example what levels are you guys with the Edge/Juice getting buy with. I would love to have a smarty JR for one of these trucks but I guess there would have to be a smarty before a smarty JR huh!!!!!! :-laf

i put a 100hp ts performance box on mine and it smoked the clutch the first time i really got into it. i replaced it with a southbend duel disc:D. been moving my 24000# fork lift with it and have had no problems yet

I think the 6. 7 clutches are the same as the 5. 9s, and I smoked my stock clutch the first time I floored it, in 6th gear at 60mph with my Smarty on #9.

On #9 my truck is making about 450hp to the rear wheels.

Stock Clutch Gone at 14k???

I am definitely interested in hearing from more people on this. My truck is bone stock, and at 14k miles on the clock my clutch is slipping when I get on it in 4th and 5th gears. My only towing has been under 3k so far and I don't drive it like a hot rod. Premature failure or POS? I've heard the warranty is only good till 12k???

From what I've read on dif. sites, Dodge does not war. a clutch unless something breaks.

They consider a clutch a wear item, (like brake pads) and will not be covered, no matter the miles.

One TDR member did get his clutch replaced under warranty, but went through a lot of BS, having to prove it was defective,(broken clutch finger) not worn out.

the stock clutch is crap. i also had one slip around 10000 miles i ran it as long as i could and then replaced it with the south bend. if you ever plan on adding any more power you might as well upgrade and not even fool with the stock one

Thanks for the replies guys. Had it in the shop today for inspection, etc. and the tech could not detect any slipping. I took a test drive with the head tech and sure enough he was able to feel it slip. Dodge is going to cover the new clutch so I am going to let them do it. They said it would be covered under the 3,36 warranty?????Oo.
