O k guys, let me have it. I have been tuning up the propane set up,clutch is now slipping at wot under load so far without trailer,so expect worse with the dead wieght. thanks is advance Lou

When I had to choose, there wasn't as many options, so I went with the McCleod Dual disk street. No complaints here, holds everything I throw at it, no driveability issues. Somewhat more expensive than the SBC, but it holds well and I'm happy. That being said, it sure doesn't look like you can wrong choosing SBC. In my opinion, Peter has shown his concern for our interests and stands by his product. Whichever you choose, pick your installer wisely, this is key to how the clutch performs IMHO.

thanks for info

thanks brothren of the trd order! this web site is one of the best things to happen since sliced bread. I think I will call SBC and talk with the experts. I did go to the sbc web site this morning there is 2 choices that I can see for me the OFE & FE but I think that peter I think you said will set me straight:confused: THANKS AGAIN LOU

I have the FE, and Dawg-1 has the OFE. The OFE is a little smoother than the FE, and they both hold. Dawg-1's held 383 hp on BD's Dyno. I like my FE, but it is grabbier than stock... . I expected that. I am happy with it, but my tires are not.

Propane on an ETH? How is your head gasket?

sbc!!

peter will set you straight on which one to get. i have the fe and it's holding great. as far as i know i'm pushing more power thru my eth con-fe than anybody and i won't budge. it does chatter a little but it's not bad.

When you get the flywheel refaced, make sure the hatch marks go crosswise over the friction area and not run with the rotation. That makes a BIG difference! The fork and throughout bearing are so heavy, it pops off the pivot ball really easy while stabbing the transmission. I drilled two small holes thru the bell housing (above and below the pivot ball) and wired the fork down against the ball. No more problem! Craig

whooaa plethera of knowledge

WOW,such responce DON'T SPOIL ME ha-ha I do exspect bit more grabbyness and will deal with that,if it holds the ponys,as you all say they will. head gasket so far holding,I did install at settings from manufacture, but pingged when I got on it,so did some adjustments starting from lesser flow rates and making adjustments upwards till egt's go nuts or hear strange things. factory setting was 5 turns out am at 3. 5 turns but clutch not happy at 4 turns. FYI 6 turns is max flow . pulls like I put another fuel box on rock is understatement:p

I have the South Bend Con O and it is hard to believe that a clutch this smooth and light peddle will hold all my power.

Call Peter he'll advise you on which clutch will do what you want.

I still grab one of my LPs and throw it on the Hi-Fi once in a while  LOL In fact I have the reel-to-reel playing as we speak. Good thing my truck has one of those newfangled hi-tech CD contraptions so I can live in the Modern Era whenever I go out for a spin :D

SBC, OVER WHELING BEST

Thanks to all of the loyal order of the TDR. I got a e-mailfrom peter this morning( wow even on a week end ) with recomendation of OFE setup and price. will search all my hiding places for some change ( darn couch netted nothing) guess the plastic needs stretching again he-he. Thanks all around again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

LP's

Hey Vaughn, its a good thing you have one of those CD contraptions, it would be tuff to get your LP to play without skippin' a few beats in your ride!! Technology is sometimes a good thing! :)

just put my SBC, FE in on friday night. it took 3 hours on thursday to pull it, and 3 1/2 to put it all back together and clean up. :D

I still cant believe this thing holds, it seems to have less pedal pressure than the stocker and has very little chatter on engagement. but no slipping :D very cool. if you heat it up with a few stop signs in a row, you can feel it start to grab better each time. I actually killed it once trying to take off like my old one use to.

I am very pleased with how the pedal feels and it's apparent willingness to hold.

Oh yeah, now I know what fourth and fifth gears, feel like @ WOT :D reminds me of the Banks add.
