i'm looking around at clutchs i know southbend makes a great clutch but what else is there excluding double disc. i want to keep the single. street driven truck only. I know of 2 trucks that have a clutch from TST in them not sure the brand but they are happy. Now TST only has south bend on their site. Just like to see all the options Thanks

We've been offering a stock clutch for the 5 speed and 6 speeds... . our custom HD disc's and new design covers will be available soon... . 60 days or so... .

We use these in our trucks, and I'm sure you've seen the posts of how we use them... . we do also own some fords. . that I don't talk about on this board. .

You should be able to find a stock style clutch for about this kind of money... . and you should expect a little harder pedal pressure... after all they have a few more pounds of plate load... heavier springs in the disc's etc. etc... .

The zoom clutch uses the same pressure plate we use... Might be the same disc as well... . I've not asked Gary about that..... but I know we use the same vendor for the pressure plate... . and now that I've let the cat out of the bag that this vendor is working on a HD design in both the disc and pressure plate i'm sure he'll follow this thread and ask our vendor... I have the pressure plate already... and have tested it on our digital bench... . I'm very pleased.....

Hope this helps you through the maze of clutches..... if not... . I'd be happy to answer your questions... . We've been doing this as long as SBC..... we just haven't pushed it... ... like Peter and Andy have... .

I have the Luk clutch in mine & abuse it everyday with no issues. Luk makes the stock clutch for Dodge trucks. I have the 13" cerametallic upgrade kit.

LOL

I don't think it is because we push it but more so that we stay ahead of the game. We also don't brake the forum rules by posting our prices like I see you have. I would think you have been here long enough to know better.

What I mean about staying ahead of the game is... The pressure plates that you are so called working on has been offered buy us for 7 months now. We are the ones that had them made and needed to order 3000 pcs. to do so. It always seems these clutch companies wait for us to get the ball rolling and then try to jump on. Love to see you put up that kind of $$$ to better the industry. Folks, you can see the pressure plate right here... http://www.southbendclutch.com/dodge_catalog.html

Also, What do you offer for the new 2006 trucks with the G56 trans?? Didn't think so :-laf

Are you going to order one of these from us and try to copy it?

For being in the business soooo long, why don't you try to be a little more innovative.

Sorry for this attack folks but companies like this get the hair on the back of my neck standing straight up. At least Zoom is trying something different with the centrifugal weights, wait, centerforce did that.

By the way...

You know the heavy duty disc that you are talking about that you use and you think Zoom uses??? I designed that disc back in 1999 for the Ford Diesel trucks. You can see it here... http://www.southbendclutch.com/6sphdceramic.html

You are only about 7 years behind on this one.

You jelag owner of a clutch comany and been doing it as long as I have, have not built, designed, redesigned or come up with anything to better the clutches for the diesel HP junkies. You sell other peoples products. THAT is why you have not pushed it like you say we have. Funny, isn't clutches what you do and you don't want to push your own product? I don't think we have pushed our product on anyone. We hope they sell because they work. And if they don't we will stand behind them and try to build a better mouse trap.

Peter[/QUOTE]

That is all you should need to see. They stand behind everything. I sold one to a customer that screwed it up on install, Told peter what he had done and he said to give him a new one they would cover it.

Enterprise Dual Disk here, Rebuilt by Peter at SBC, either company is great, Peter and his staff are very timely and professional. havn't dealt much with enterprise but they got my center plate to Peter in a timely fashion

SBC... I had an EEP dual disk, went with an OFE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Finally my 6spd was FUN to drive! And Peter bent over backwards for me to help me out on getting rid of my DD to some one who needed a big HD pulling clutch. After dealing with Peter and every one at SBC, also personally being at the shop and seeing another unbelievable feet of customer srevice to another gentleman, I would NEVER think about going some where else. Getting it right the first time is always cheaper in the long run... .

Got the SBC FE in mine and it's held on sledpulls and some drag racing just fine.

Nice pedal pressure and engagement too.

I'm putting a bit more power to it then it's rated for too :-laf

Peter @ SBC

Peter, I knew your dad... ... and he was a real gentlemen... ... too bad you didn't learn some of his attributes... . he never would have slammed his competitors, but would have sold his products based on his knowledge.....

I'm now sorry I made the comments... . and it put a burr under your saddle... .
