Will EGT probe installation void the truck or engine warranty?

Stock clutch NV5600 with PMCR set on 4/4. Lets say I am driving down the road in 3rd gear. When I put it to the floor around 2000rpm, the tach jump 2-300 rpm for a second then the truck takes off! Is this tire spin or clutch slippage?

I'm used to a clutch slipping and never grabbing until you let off so I am a little confused on this one.

PMCR is newly installed so I have not been beating the truck with it for a long time.

It is torque that makes clutches slip and you make max torque around 1800 rpm then it slopes off till about 3200. As your rpm rises the ability of your clutch to hold becomes better.

What about if I'm flooring it and my truck gets to 40mph and is still revving like crazy but hangs at 40mph for literally about 2 or 3 seconds with no acceleration whatsoever for those seconds.

What's happening there?

With an automatic transmission? That don't sound good

With my quad on 140 in 3rd I can do the same thing (when the 285's are mounted up), but I'm sure the tires are slipping due to the chirp coming from the rear. With your 4. 10's I would bet it's tire slip.

I actually had a 2nd gen 47RE do this... once in a while (like every 25,000 miles), it is like the computer has a brain fart and can't decide or forgets what it actually is supposed to be doing... sorta like a drunk person... then it'll realize "oh, yeah... " and things start working again... if it is not a repeatable scenario, I'd just chalk it up and drive... write it down so you don't forget it did it and can tell your transmission guy when you have it rebuilt (it will come to that!).

They found a govenor/pressure sensor issue in my 47RE because I told them about what it had done.

I know all trucks are diffent, but my brothers Duramax was doing this the other day and we thought it might be his transmission going out. Took it to the dealer and it was a cloged fuel filter and a bad injector. If you just drove the vehicle normal it was fine, but if you hammered on it, it woyuld get stuck on stupid and just sit there.

Hope this helps, and I know the Duramax/Allison might be different.

was happening to me also, but didn't have the rpm's raise. So, bought me a sbc conFE. Still doing some of the same things, so my thoughts was that it was mostly in the stock turbo for me. Just like hammering on it dumps too much fuel and it take a couple seconds for the turbo to catch up, and when it does... . look out!!!
