JFaughn said:My 1st post joined in on putting the oil Co , but the thing I'm thinking about seeing thiis all over the media is do not get caught up in the media B. S... ... . a factoid with out any relivance is just obvious mannipulation , just think about it for a moment , a co that big is going to have big profits , what were there profits this qt. the last few yrs , I think they are well worth bashing but I want my bashing to be base in truth that I can acktully back up with real info , than maybe it will have an improving effect not just polerization.
That's easy to see with reading in this and other threads and an internet search.
Exxon PROFITS are up 75% compared to the same quarter last year. Other oil companies profits are up 89% from the same quarter last year.
The taxes we have paid to the government is more than triple what the oil companies all of them combined have reported in profits for the same period of time.
This really has nothing to do with tax or oil profits over the last 10 years. It is a matter of what has happened over the last year and especially the last 6 months. Your comparison would not come close.
Just for reference, it costs Saudi Arabia $1. 25 to pump out 1 barrel of crude. A barrel is not a gallon, not hitting on anyone but is suprising alot of people dont know that.
