Who makes a good, affordable, no frills coach gun? And what is the shortest legal barrel lenght?

I believe 18" is the shortest you can have without a Class III FFL.

How about a mosberg 500 with one of those aftermarket barrels places like Cheeper then dirt sells. they have may different size barrels for the 500 including large mag's

I see them at gun shows for just over $225. 00.

The Russian one is much nicer overall then the chi-com made one IMO.

Go with the Stoeger, it's a nice side-by-side. I worked for a sporting goods store and this was a solid firearm. They came in . 410, 20, and 12 ga with 3" chamber.

I have a Stoeger Coach gun and it's been fine. I just bought it to have fun with since it was the only new short barrelled side by side with double triggers I could find. It's fun to pull both at once, that's one reason I bought it. No complaints at all really.
