I have a Cobra 29 LTD. Want to mount it in the center console of my 2012 Ram. Need to know what the exact measurements are of a 29 LX and the Uniden Bearcat 980. I'm talking about the overall width of the enclosure. My 29 LTD is 7.25 inches. Hoping one of the other two is slightly narrower. Anyone have this info, please?

I had my LTD mounted under the steering wheel in my '04, but it won't work in the '12, unfortunately.

Thanks!

According to Google, both the 29LX and the 980 are 7.25 inches wide. The 29LX is 9.25 inches long and the 980 is 7.5 inches long. I have a 980 here that I can measure and verify for you but don't have a 29LX. According to my CB guy, the 29LX is a better radio than the 980. The 29LX tunes up better than the 980. Look at Geno's online store. It seems I saw a mount that bolted to the center seat base and came up the front of the seat to mount a radio to it....

Thanx for the reply. I have seen the dimensions online, but wanted "actual" dimensions. Even on Cobra's website, they list my radio at 7.60 inches. I measured mine myself and it's 7.25. If you could measure your 980 I'd appreciate it.

The Geno's mount, if we're thinking of the same thing, only works without the center console. My console goes up to the dash, so no access to the transmission hump. Saw someone mount it inside the console (the center space next to the cupholders) and he had a 29LX in there.
