Losing the Alamo-again

Walmart-- you wont believe this!!

Coka-Cola has a new "patriotic" can coming out with a picture of the Empire State Building and the Pledge of Allegiance printed on the can.

But Coke forgot two little words on the pledge, "Under God".

Coke has stated they did not want to offend anyone.

If this is true than we do not want to offend anyone at the Coke corporate office. If we do not buy any Coke products than they will not receive any of our monies. Our money, after all, does have the words "Under God" on it.

Coke does not have the right to rewrite the Pledge Of Allegiance!!

Their website is www.coke.com you can find your way through all the garbage and find the "contact us" button. I did and I shared my colorful American thoughts with them:mad:

You know guys... . we are gonna fight over there and we gotta fight here too! Everyday I'm seeing crap like this... . I'm getting tired of every no good SOB taken a chunk out of our great countries bounty and it's people.

Times a coming fellas... are we ready? The great tree of Liberty needs watering with blood of the tyrants and unfortunately that of patriot's too.

Got Milk? heck with that... . Got Bullets!

You know that stuff just peeses me off too... ... ... . All of this PC stuff is WRONG, put God back in every day life!!!!!!!!!!

Put it back?

Who cares? As long as you can worship the way you want, why would you need your religion as the only one recognized by the goverment? It goes against everything America is supposed to be about. Our ancesters came to this country to gain the freedom to worship as they please, not to have one religion shoved down their throat. Under God was put into the pledge during the cold war, under the pretense of fighting communism. It was not there before that. Use it when YOU say the pledge, that is all that counts, put religion and God in YOUR life.

Good place to do the Hokey Pokey. :D

I sent the following reply:

Remember what a fiasco reformulated Coke was? Cost you alot didn't it? Yes it did.

Now what do you suppose is going to happen once this pledge of allegiance sans 'under God' gets around? I've been exclusively a Coke drinker for years but I can change if you would prefer.

but when I click on 'submit'

I get a 'server error'

message from their site.

Suppose they really didn't want to hear from me after all?

My bet is the vast majority of people will just glance at it, think Pledge of Allegiance and not even read it enough to notice a couple of words are missing.

If they just took the time to read the ingredient label they probably wouldn't be drinking it.

CF... I'll over look your dribble as I expected it and I must say if a person does not stand up for anything than that person is nothing at all. What a great country we have... if a person wants to be lame in all regards, that person has a right to be that way as an American citizen. I respect you exercising your rights.

Jay... my little tantrum was submitted so perhaps the site had received a great deal of activity that afternoon/evening.

Bill... sad but true most may not notice and it rings clear that most Americans are fat complacent ignorant morons these days and until they are truly hit in the face personally than they awake and say what happened?

This carries over to the stupidity of those who say give me more proof of "where are the terrorists coming from?"... "who is financing them?" well..... duhhhh!

Perhaps the media (fat chance) would give us all a full dose of the Towers coming down "unedited" to show the American bodies splatting on the ground as they chose to jump to their deaths in the catastrophe they endured. Yes the edited versions with no detail is all we see... it makes one think that perhaps they have discontinued this display because it might cause many to awake from the delusions they live in. Could it be that it might get us "fired up" and the government doesn't want us fired up?

I know I'm raving... I'm sure many find my "stress" entertaining as they sit back fat and warm in the "ol-computer shack" but I would hope you will remember that the day you can no longer operate on the webb because there is no power to operate your computer and there is NO Internet due to the great coming catastrophe that there were a few who did ride the pony and called "To arms to arms the **** has hit the fan" shall not fade away... will we remember?

I will say this... . I HOPE I'm WRONG! I will enjoy having the time many years from now when I post on the "Other TDR" thread that those who can remember... "Yeah... there's that dumb WTBurke he mouthed off many years ago as a loose screw about some coming catastrophe that never happened" Boy I hope thats the way it would go because it will be warm fat and comfortable and I'll just be regarded as an old fool.

This would mean that many of you are still alive and can remember this old fool!

But... if I'm correct... . woe to our poor nation and it's once great standing in history. GOD I hope I'm wrong... I'll pray that I'm wrong.

Whos lame?

If anyone here believes that by having the word God on a pop can will change the course of history, please stand up now! I think if that be the case we should hurry and bow to the christian right everyday (Just like some other religions we know do) .

If you really cared to fight about something that matters, how about world peace or putting an end to world hunger? All I hear in a self centered message of they are not honoring MY God by putting his name on a pop can. Not the most worthwhile cause in my book. Of course could never understand some of the reasons or reasoning of the far right... ...

CF, it is not about MY God or your lack of God on a pop can. It is about the principles this nation was founded on being shunned so a few people on the far LEFT can FEEL good about thier patheticness. They have no morals, no courage, and no integrity. They are incensed that some of us do have those qualities, and it makes them FEEL inferior as they should.

World peace and world hunger? How about we stop trying to FEEL good about helping others and get our own house in order. If we were able to do that we would be a lot more help to a lot more people in the world. Take care of AMERICANS FIRST!!!!!

So LS you're saying that the principles this nation were founded on were in 1954 when under God was added to the pledge?

Some Jehovah's Witnesses pounding on my door said that Jehovah is the only true God, shouldn't it say one nation under Jehovah?

Illflem, no I am saying it is about changing things so some people on the far left don't get OFFENDED . Why the poor things, we can't possibly not cater to their every whim:rolleyes:

The liberal left is out of control, and political correctness is thier vehicle.

Y'all better be glad that " Coke " is not in the Money printing business, they would take the " In God We Trust " off the bills . Hey C F you know buy any chance when THEY started putting " IN GOD WE TRUST " on U. S. currency (Federal Reserve Note) ?????

I am now thinking this nation was founded on freedom, was it not? It was founded on many freedoms we all hold dearly. The far right would make you think it is more important to have God on a pop can, than to be able to worship the God of your choice. Of course we can't have that, we have to convert the whole USA and then the rest of the world. Lets see, wouldn't that be just like the Taliban with a bigger army?

The right would also make you think it is much more important to have someone take the word God off of the pledge, than personal rights and freedoms being taken away by Homeland security in the name of "Protecting the people of the US". I wonder how long it will take before this will touch all of us.

The right would have you believe it is much more important to stop all imigration to the US and have more conflicts and war. But, wouldn't it be a tragedy to become isolationists, pulling our militarys from foreign countrys (who don't want us there anyway) and being at peace? Too late at this point, we are over the line. Besides that we have to get those lousey Muslims converted to Christian, even if we have to kill them!

I almost forgot, the right are the only ones on this planet who are moral, have courage, and integrity. I feel so inferior sometimes (NOT). Maybe it is the right that are feeling a little threatened, scared maybe. It might be catching, they might throw a war and no one will come? Then maybe it will come to Bush and Saddam in a cage match on RAW. :D Might be a good idea. As long as we had a prayer first. :D

It would be nice to take care of our own. We are going to spend two hundred billion dollars on this war with Iraq, instead of splitting the cost up with the rest of the world (Bad diplomacy/no diplomacy). We now have over 45 states that are cutting elderly care/food, school budgets, and other humantarian items. Yet our president continues with a plan to stimulate the economy with tax cuts ( Didn't work last time ) for the rich. I forgot the right are the rich.

Then the Hokey Pokey. :D I like it ill... ... ... ... ...

This should be a simple question for ya C F . If you were the President of the U. S. how would you stop the next Terroristic Attack on the U. S. and how would you "Take Care Of Our Own " ( people that where born in the U. S. ) when this country becomes over run by immigrant's . Makes me think back to that TV News Story about Mexicans on the Mexican side of the border getting mailing addresses in the U. S. side of the border so they could get U. S. ware-fare checks .

pledge of allegiance vs. Coke

WT and Champagne Flight,

I contacted Coke and let them know that I can drink other than Coke products and will vote on their patriotic actions with my money and choice of drink. I think Coke should have the backbone to print the whole Pledge or none of it. Being politically correct is impossible anyway. Either the company stands for America and what America stands for or it doesn't. Coke is under no obligation to print the Pledge on their cans, but if they do, they should print all of it.

Kind of reminds me of ABC news (Peter Jennings) immediately after the 9/11 stuff and his company would not let him and other employees wear little flag lapels on suits. Why, because they reported the news for the entire world not just the USA. You got to be kidding--ABC stands for the AMERICAN Broadcasting Company.

We live in a sick world.

Well, it's not a complete hoax, but it's been twisted around. It's actually Dr. Pepper, but some people have changed the e-mails to Coke and Pepsi. You can check it out at http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/drpepper.htm

Here's a bit of the article, I'm not going to bother pasting the whole thing:

"Critics say that omitting the reference to God is an act of political correctness by the company and that those who believe in God should complain about it. The Dr Pepper/Seven Up folks say their purpose was to reflect the unity of the country, not to make an anti-religious statement and that 90 percent of the rest of the Pledge did not appear either.

Forty-one million of the cans have been distributed in more than a dozen states and have been discontinued as of February.

There is a virtually identical version of the eRumor that says it was Pepsi that took the words off the patriotic can. That one is false. "

coke vs. pledge

Andy,

thanks. Like I said in my thread we sometimes live in a sick world. That includes (unfortunately) people who like to start rumors with e-mails. I don't know how many e-mails I get from reputable people that have false stuff in them. Usually I check them out before responding to them. There must be people that get their kicks starting rumors to see how far they go. They need to get a life!

How and Why the USA will be Destroyed!

Speaking of rumors anyone seen this one?
