What injectors should I run with my EZ?

Time for a clutch

i installed a pm3 comp box on my truck this weekend is wow!:--) this thing is a big jump from the drag comp i was running. i would like some thoughts from others that may have run other boxes before the pm3 comp. also, any one running a high output motor that is piggybacking the pm3? i was told that would be too much timing and put me right back where i was with the edge drag comp.

The TST powermax 3 Comp version delivers 160 rwhp (claimed by TST) using increased fuel delivery only-timing is left alone. The Drag Comp uses increased fueling and timing changes to deliver 120 (claimed) rwhp. I believe that Mark at TST has stated that timing boxes added to his comp version do not add any top end horsepower but bring in more torque at lower rpm. :D

Just to add to the mix,

I have seen Drag Comp equipped trucks dyno right with trucks equipped with the TST/EZ combination.

FMS/EZ, TST/EZ, Drag Comp

are all great fueling enhancements.

what about the timing issue? somebody told me that piggybacking the pm3 would put me right back with the same problem as the drag comp on the h. o. motor. what i was told was that the drag comp had too much timing for a h. o. motor. any responses?

I dont know if the Timing is more aggressive on the Edge Drag Comp Vs. the Edge Ez.

But many users like Rob Thomas have an HO engine with the TSTPM3 Comp and Edge Ez stacked on top of it.

The Timing of the Ez adds a nice bottom end to get you going, as far as too much timing? Maybe, maybe not.

But, one thing else to consider is modifications to the VP44 shorten its life span, typically.

Also modifications and severe additions of power to these ISB's also shorten the lifespan of the engines bearings and wear surfaces (ie bearings, pistons, crank, cynlinder walls).

So if your worried about breaking things, dont modify.

If not, go for it (stock is no fun).

I have a friend who ran a Custom Comp with heavy timing for over 40,000 miles with an HO motor.

He never blew a head gasket.

As said before the Drag Comp will hold its own with the TST Comp/Ez combo.

What it really comes down to are user friendly features, if you like the advantage of 10 levels vs 5, also electronical gauges provided with the TST unit are nice.

The Edge box is more basic, but works really well (ask Jetpilot)

Good Luck!

Just thought I'd throw this out there...

In January 2003 I attended the NorCal Dyno Day on a Dynojet dyno along with 24 other trucks that dynoed. We each had 2 runs, the shop owner ran every truck on the dyno. I asked him to make run #1 with my drag Comp turned off, run #2 with it on, at 5x5, just so I could see exactly how much the drag Comp will buy an HO motor. It made precisely 95 HP difference.

By the way, I took Top Dawg honors for the event, total of 25 trucks ran on the rollers, Dodges, Fords and the occasional Duramax. :D

NVR FNSH ran his 2002 with non-drag Comp, and then borrowed my drag Comp just to see what the difference was. I can't remember right now if his truck is an HO or ETC, and I don't remember the precise HP difference my box made over his, but it was quite a lot, something over 70HP difference as I recall. He was :{ that he didn't have the drag Comp after borrowing mine :-laf
