Well I guess after 72k miles trouble free I now have trouble. I was driving home Friday evening from San Francisco on Interstate 80 and as I pressed the "go" peddle NOTHING happened. I MASHED it to the floor the transmission down shifted and all was normal. As I continued to light throttle down the hi-way it happened 5 additional times before I got home to Paradise.
This AM I pulled these two codes 0216 and 1693 put the manual gage on the Schroeder valve and was idling at 10 psi. (i know that ain't great)
I was at a 1/4 tank I changed the fuel filter and noted no change. I went and fueled up to full and noted an improvement of 1 psi at idle so... . now it's 11 psi. (lift pump must be poor to have a full tank help it)
I unhooked my negative leads on the batteries and waited about an hour as I was throwing a hissy-fit about this. Re hooked the DC did the "peddle to the floor calibration" (APPS) and restarted the rig. Shut it down and the codes were still there? Can I not clear these or is my problem so bad that even a start and idle will lock the codes that fast?
I've read all the related threads that are presently running but. guys... . what have I done wrong to deserve a p-0216 code? I'm so careful with this rig I feed it very carefully and change fluids and filters all the time.
Did I really need to spend 600 bux on an aftermarket fuel delivery system to prevent my vp-44 from from failure even though my truck is factory stock?
Is my baby broken
