Ok it was snowy today and that is where the 0500 could be coming from as I was spinning pretty good but I have no clue as to the code 1596 I did several searches and found nothing on it. It is Speed control switch high.

The issues are in the last few months it developed a funny downshift quirk. when coming to a stop from cruising speeds it gives a firm down shift like what it feels like when you manually down shift it. Seems to be most noticable from 3-2.

But after coming to a stop and spinning out in the snow it stuck in first gear and when I let off throttle I lost everything like it went to neutral and I coasted a couple hundred feet I rolled to the next stop light and it found first just before stop. It never acted up the rest of the day. Cruise switch was off can't use it with my mods, speedo works.

What is code 1596 and how could it cause my issues?

Forgot to say transmission has BD TC,valvebody and pressure lock.

Well did a search using P1596 and found lots of info. Turns out to be the output shaft speed sensor on the transmission. 15 bucks.

TDR is starting to slip. I got several replys on the problem on another diesel forum with only 160 members within an hour last night.
