Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Code 500 and 1693

I hit the key three times and these two codes poped up any ideas?

Well I can tell you what the codes stand for, not sure on fixing them. The P0500=no vehicle speed sensor signal, P1693=DTC detected in companion JTEC module. Sounds like to me you might have a speed sensor or maybe a wire connection going bad? Hope this helps. gary

This code comes up once in a while when you put it 4wd and turn tight, just a thought.

I stuck the truck in 4wd (low) backing the fver in the yard friday night I might of turned her sharp I hate backing down at high speed, and I dont care to ride the clutch How can I clear the code and start over or do I need an obd2 scanner?

You might be able to disconnect the batteries and clear the code. The check engine light will probably go out in a few key cycles. I might suggest getting a 2 low kit for backing up the 5th wheel, that is how I do it and it works great.

I never had the check engine light come on. I just hit the key three times and the codes poped up.

The codes will clear by themselves after several routine engine starts - IF no actual problem continues to exist...
