Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Code Dump

I have tried multiple times to get the codes to diplay on my odometer with 3x on -off discribed here on TDR. I know there are codes present, but no joy. Does this procedure work on pre 98. 5 ? and not on on a 98. 5 ??

Should the odometer be on the trip or milage display.

Any advise would be appreicated,

I think you are going to need a OBDII code reader. I did for my 99'...

I think that this trick wont work on the early 24V. I tried on a friend's 98 and never could get anything to come up, but it works on my 00

I'm in Los Alamos Ca. about 50mi North of Santa Barbara. .

I ordered the truck in Feb 98 form Dodge Fleet Sales on the Web. They called and asked if I wanted the 12v or 24v. I went 24v and took delivery in July 98. So, I'm sure it's first run 24v ISB. Completely built in Mo. USA woo hoo !! I was impressed that they invited me out to check out my truck as it was built !!

OBDII code reader ?? are they reasonably priced ??

Mat the reason I asked was if you were local you could use mine. I would bet that you can find someone in your local club that has one.

If I remeber correct that year you can turn the key off and hold down the odemiter reset and it will flash the codes for you. I might be wrong it may be turn the key on. Try both maybe someone can correct me
