The check engine light came on this morning, had been in the low 40's. Had the truck scanned and found code p0111. Intake air temp sensor 1 circuit range/performance. Has anyone had this code before and what might be the problem?

Check the connection on the plug for this sensor. Clean if necessary and try it again. If it is just a "glitch" the CEL will go out after, I think, 3 successful starts without an error.

If it's not a glitch, take it to a dealer to have it replaced under warranty if they will do it with your mods.

Connection was good, pulled sensor, it was dirty. Cleaned it and my air filter while I had it apart. Now have another problem! Top cover of air filter box is cracked. #@$%! Must have been pushing down too hard and caused it to crack, never had this happen before. Glued it together for now but, not sure how long it will hold. Have to find a replacment. Would assume dealer is too expensive.

2 foot driving and P0111 error code

If you drive with both both feet to manuver a trailer you may get the check engine "MIL" light and code P0111. This happened to me when parking my heavy 5th wheel. After 6 engine starts the light went off. My service advisor at the Dodge dealership told me it was a common code with this type driving.

My thanks to the TDR membership for getting me the right information to display the error codes and not have to pay the dealer for this information. The truck runs great and is a joy to drive, even with a 14,000 lb load behind it.
