Says in the book P0577 is cruise control input circuit high. Can somebody please tell me what this is, and maybe how to fix it?

My cruise control is sporadic. When on, it will work for a while, then takes a notion to drop out. Or, it will surge, generally around 70 mph.

Where do I go to fix it? The clockspring has been replaced.

What year is the truck. The Vacuum operated ones sometimes have issues with battery acid spill over as they are under the drivers side battery. Take a look at that. Snoking

My late built 2001.5(May 2001) has the vacuum setup and is a Taco Truck. Not sure that many 2001.5's got the "electronic" cruise!!!! Snoking

is yours automatic or manual?
Mine is manual, no vacuum control under the driver side battery. It is a 6-speed
so I believe it is controlled thru the ECM

Do you tilt your steer wheel back and forth a lot? Everything I read relates to the clock spring for the P0577, however you could have a broken wire in the steering column! I could look up the wire color for you! SNOKING
