I'm stuck at work right now and would like to know is someone can help? i need some to know what the DTC detectable in ECM means. And maybe a bit more explanation. Thanks

1693 is a companion code that states something else is wrong. You need to find the other code. 1693 by itself is no big deal. Smarty's used to throw those all the time!

Thanks for the reply, after some time exploring the site, I found that out. Any ideas why after installing a new LP, It drove fine for a day and now died and blows the 20 amp engine control fuse?

That code has shown up on my 2000 CTD. If that code by itself doesn't indicate a specific problem, how do you find the "companion code" that does tell you what the problem is?

You need to read the codes with a plug in scanner. I have purchased my own but others on here say that Auto Zone, Oreilly, etc. will read and clear them for you no charge.
