After Injector install - Steps

My check engine light came on, truck went in limp mode. The codes are p2509 and p2146. I cleared the codes and unplugged, looked at and replugged the wire plug to the valve cover on the front bank. After driving it down the road a short distance, the truck started running fine. I cleared the code again and let it idle for about 20 min. then drove it a while, everything seems to be ok now. Do I need to replace the valve cover gasket, have it checked by a shop or just drive it? I am 200miles from home. Could it be the gasket or an injector? Oh-this is an 07 3500 drw 2wd g-56 5. 9, stock except for an edge mileage max. Any help will be appreciated.

P2509 is powerdown data loss and P2146 is bank 1 cylinders shorted.

Now, you have an Edge product. Doesn't that plug into the injector harness in some way? If so I'd point the finger at that.

I don't see how a bad valve cover gasket could throw either of these codes, but then I don't really know the intimate details of the 2007 engine.

After plugging and unplugging the group 1 harness, it has run great since. I drove 250 miles today and no codes or cel. It must be wire shortages of some type. I ordered a valve cover gasket with harness today from Geno's for $102, the Dodge ******* in Kentucky had one in stock which was a special order that was not picked up for $300!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW what a markup!!! I will replace the valve cover gasket and clean all my connections to it and from the ecm and hope it doesn't happen again. I was on the way to Indiana to pick up aload, but turned around and came back to Alabama to fix it. Cheaper fix at home!!!
