I am having intermittent dead pedal issues.
Usually, first start of the day, fires right up and runs fine until the boost goes to about 5 pounds and then I go into dead pedal mode.
Also, on a long uphill on the way home from work, the boost is hovering at a consistent 6-8 psi, and that also seems to activate the dead pedal.
All I have to do to get the truck to run right is turn off the ignition and restart it, 95% of the time it'll run right from there on. Otherwise, a second restart will fix it.
Today, I decided to check out a few things. I took out the IAT and cleaned it (it wasn't very dirty).
I am now on my way to buy a deep socket to yank the MAP sensor and clean it / replace it. I am pretty sure this is the root of my problem.
Today, I pulled the codes and am getting 1693 and 0216, I've got these codes for the last 10k miles or so, but I got the 0522 and 0523, which means too high/low voltage from the oil pressure sending unit.
Is it possible that a bad oil pressure sender could be the source of my dead pedal issues?
Anyone else familiar with this problem?
Thanks
Stu Mumford
