Have a 02 with AT ,truck only runs about half power some times and I get a 112 and a 237 code which is AIT and MAP sensor. Replaced both, cleared codes but still have little throttle response. What next...

I would try APPS next after testing the one you have. A searce will result in a lot of info on testing and where to get one if it proves to be bad.

I had the same codes on my 02. I replaced both of the sensors and that didn't help. I ended up having to replace the ECM. I found a thread on this website that explained how to check for the proper voltage at the ECM, once I knew the sensors were working fine I replaced the ECM. The truck has been running great since then. Might be worth looking at.

Where is a good place to get an ECM? Replaced apps still have little throttle response. What's agood price on a ECM?
Bryan,

Before you resort to that...

A quick look at the wiring diagrams in the service manual indicates the IAT and MAP sensors share that same ground to the ECM. Have you verified there isn't an open circuit (a break) in the wiring harness? Do you need tips on how to do this?

Regards,

John L.

Yes,I hate elcetrical,I would rather be in grease up to my elbows than work with that. Would be happy for any info.
Well it's a long shot, but worth checking out because a replacement ECM isn't cheap.

The attached wiring diagram shows how the engine sensors share a common signal ground path to the ECM through splice number S165. A quick way to check the ground for the IAT and MAP sensors would be to unplug each sensor's connector and the ECM's 50-pin connector, then using an Ohmmeter, check the resistance between each the following pins:

IAT connector pin A and ECM connector pin 11

MAP connector pin B and ECM connector pin 11

The resistance should be below 100 Ohms on both.

Good luck,

John L.

codes

have checked the grounds to IAT and MAP to the ECM,have circut. . cleared codes and I will get 112 0r 237 but not together now. what next... ECM?

Bryan,

It sure sounds that way.

As to where to buy an ECM...

In another thread located HERE, Gordon Maney has been dealing with where to buy an ECM. He did some searching on the web and dug up a few places. I've purchased both a spare ECM and PCM from a place called Auto Computer Exchange down in Florida without any problems, but others haven't been so lucky. Based on my own experience and reports I've read from others, Auto Computer Exchange seems to have very mixed performance and they don't respond to BBB complaints when something goes wrong. They do sell ECM's through eBay and have a good seller reputation there. So if you decide to do business with them, I'd strongly recommend you order through eBay and pay with Paypal that way you have both eBay and Paypal's guarantees behind the transaction. But no matter where you buy from, make sure you have some sort of protection... as in paying with a credit card where you could have the charges reversed if you got ripped off.

Good luck,

John L.

Where did you get your ECM?
