Was 1/2 hr out of Lodi when the check engine lite came on. At the first stop the codes were PCU 1693, ECU 0234. There seemed to be not much change in engine operation except that more fuel/needed. Boost was 16-18 psi instead of 10-12. 70 miles later stopped in another rest area and checked again-same codes. On restart the lite went out(only on for about 100m) and less boost required.

Back to normal?

The lite stayed out all the way home, about 300m. This morning the codes were still there.

The truck has 55,000m on it, Both the FTP and VP44 were changed at 47k.

What do these codes mean?

What can I get the dealer to do?

I hate to be the one to say this... . I'd start saving for a VP44. This is the same activity I had and I was able to get by for a couple weeks. Then it just quit completely one day while driving. I bought a race VP from that injection place up in Utah. good luck

Talk about STUPID. All the codes are in the back of the Dodge Factory Manual, which i have.

0234 is boost overload-possible wastegate problem. Anyhow, the dealer says he is going to replace the turbo-under warranty. How lucky can you get.

bigger injectors will set that code if you are towing under a big load. Higher than stock boost with out a GOOD boost fooler.

Bob

i have a boost fooler, just hadn't put it on. Because of the turnbuckle i was running at 24 psi.

They both will go back on when the truck comes home.
