Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) codes with Hypertech

I am continuously getting a 234 turbo boost limit exceeded code after running my truck hard. First question... will this code set derate my engine and affect performance and acceleration? Second question... is there a boost fooler available I can put on it to eliminate setting the code? I also pulled a 602 code today and the OBD code list doesn't list that one. . anyone know what it is? I do not get a CEL light with the 234 code either... I view codes with my Hypertech programmer weekly.

you will continue to get these codes, the box on the truck fools the injection pump contoller but the actual engine controller still sees close to the correct readings it is looking for. Every truck I look at that comes to the dealership has these codes when a box is installed.

Yes, P0234 is often set at random times even with a perfectly stock engine. No performance decrease, no problem.

P0602 is a code set whenever the factory settings in the ECM are changed. Not a problem either.

You've got the hypertec, and the RV275's? No surprise you are over boosting... The hypertec doesn't have a boost fooler built in, you need one. Almost all of the fuel/timing boxes like the Edge, TST, van Aaken, etc... have a boost fooler built in. Or you can buy just a boost fooler from I think Piers, don't remember for sure but think they are about 70 bucks or so. When you set the overboost code the computer de-fuels... ... so yes you are losing power...



EDIT: Didn't see marco's post before I posted, but correct me if I'm wrong if he is setting the over boost code, then he's de fueling correct???

I've been running the combination for the last 70,000 miles since January this year and haven't noticed any power loss but when I started thinking that maybe my engine is defueling after a 234 code that maybe I'm not getting all my combination was meant to give and by eliminating the boost code I could achieve more HP. I recently switched to a new style LP in tank and noticed a substantial power loss after the change but Dodge referred me to TSB that states if a customer with aftermarket guages complains about pressure to diregard because they test by flow and not pressure. Without jerking the new LP back out and running a FASS or Airdog I wanted to find out if I could get some power back with just a boost fooler. I really want to fry my VP so I can toss it through my dealers window and tell them to shove their new and improved LP up their arse! But in the meantime I want to regain my power from somewhere..... been thinking a Marco box... how much are they and what is the turn around because I NEED my truck everyday and I drive about 500 miles each day.
