Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) codes

I had a couple of codes come up. (First time I've ever looked at them). 1693 and 0234. Check engine light did not come on.

Will they age out, or is there a way to reset them ? Truck is running great, no problems.



Now, I did have the EZ box out for a couple of days so I could take my truck in for warranty service for a transmission leak. Also, a few weeks ago, I accidently tried to start the truck with the switch that drains water out of the system in the open position (pumped some diesel out on the ground) and the check engine lite came on then. Could one or both of those events have triggered the codes ?

1693 is just a companion code saying there is a code in the computer. 0234 is an overboost code. If you have the boost elbow in, and the EZ removed, it will trip the overboost code. Assuming you got on it hard enough to make more than the stock boost pressure. It will go away eventually. Mine still shows up occasionally, and I decided to ignore it from now on.

Thanks, I didnt think I got on it very hard while the ez was out, but I guess I might have trying to go up a hill. (I was going about 40 in 3rd, and when I yomped on it to go a little faster, instead of downshifting to 2nd like I thought it should, it went right to 1st at about 3300 rpm.
