"but i was promised a night out free to a girlie bar"

It's okay... that's one of the VERY FEW acceptable excuses for missing a get-together.

Too bad I wasn't back in New England - I'd help your buddy move too!

Loss of Power

Okay guys,

On the way home Friday night the truck lost power. Went from 75 to 50. I pumped the pedel and nothing. Pushed it to the floor and nothing. Then all of a sudden it just picked back up and took off. This is the 4th or 5th time its happened.

Any ideas.

Andy,

Send TMTT a PM. I forget what he did to fix his truck.

There seem to be a lot of posts in the 2nd Gen forum on this same subject lately...

oh no

Andy sounds like you might be coming a victim of the vp 44 disaster check codes thru your mileage with the key if you dont know how give me a yell buddy.

TMTT and I played with the TPS on his truck. I can't say for sure, but I think dielectric grease on the connector to the TPS fixed the problem. It's a cheap fix if it works

From those codes it looks like a dead VP-44. Those were the codes that were set in my friends truck and the dealer had to order a replacement injection pump for it. I not really sure what the P-1757 is but I would think that it is related to the VP-44.

Unfortunately thats what i've been finding on the site for info.

But at least from what I've read is that its under warranty.

Should stock injectors be put back in before a trip to the dealer?

Can these cause this problem?

hey

Andrew dont worry about the injectors to much their is a dealer that isnt to bad in your area contact matt wheaton. But you are a victim of the vp 44 being dead. If ya need some help with it give me a shout at the shop

VP 44

Took it to the Dealer today. They scanned it and said that the P-0216 was 126 starts ago and it must have fixed itself.

Somehow I don't believe them do you?

He then said the other codes they found lead to a govoner problem in the transmission and would cost $400 to replace. Hence they're not touching my transmission.
