Not sure on the gauge just yet. May have some air in the fuel side, yet???? It sometimes goes up to almost 10psi at idle, but seems to average out at about 7. 5 most of the time. On one occasion, I had a long hard pull up a hill, and wanted to see what it would do, so I floored it in 5th, shifted to 6th and kept it on the floor. It accelerated all the way to the top, and pulled the fuel psi down to 5 and no lower. Stayed on that like it was pegged, until I let off it, then it went back to it's usual 7. 5 reading. It jumped back up as soon as I lifted the foot. EGTs went to 1100 and stayed there, until the throttle came off. Boost stayed at 24 all the way. This thing is a puller. I have to find a brake controller for a trailer I am borrowing to haul the hay bales. Got any ideas what a good one is to look for? Looking for something small to stick out of the way, since I won't be using it all the time. The guy I am borrowing the trailer from, has a Tekonsha, he got at CarQuest. I think they are readily available, but don't know squat about them. Nothing in the tow forum. I checked that first.

Jengle, I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy, it is very smooth and easy to use. The best feature is that is plugs in from the back, and has a quick mount so when your not using it you can tuck it away in the glovebox

As far as brake controllers, don't know anything about them.



If you want, you can try to bleed the air from the isolator again. It's really easy. I would do it while the engine is running.

Yes, the Tekonsha Prodigy is supposed to be very good. You can get a nifty plug in adapter for under the dash... every other controller provides a kit to help you wire it yourself. I'd also recommend getting the two different 5->7 pin converters at the trailer end. One has a central pin, the other does not. Use the wrong one, and the brakes won't release.

Thanks for the tips on the controllers. I would have no problem buying the prodigy, but it is kind of pricey for a one time use. I don't have a trailer that I tow to need it. Yet.



Ok, I belong to MDTDR due to that is where my house is. But the NETDP has way more events, if you count the coffee nights, and anyone who has attended one, will agree, they are far more than just a coffee night. So, I guess I'll put the NETDP in front of the MDTDR.



On the fuel isolator, it got down to 26 this morning, and I saw a max pressure of about 7 all day. I haven't refueled, so I doubt I got a bad load of fuel to dirty up the filter, but I'll keep an eye on it. The article in the new TDR says the pump is rated at about 10psi, so I guess that's normal pressure for me. I'll try to bleed that screw again, but are you sure, with the engine running, or just key on? Wouldn't it spray diesel everywhere under pressure like that?

OK, I noted the sig change... :-laf Yes, I actually looked.



Just crack the bleed valve, you shouldn't need to go more than a 1/4 turn. It won't make a mess if you have a rag and go nice and slow.



Just be careful reaching and leaning over the radiator fan.





Try bumping the starter, see if the pump will run for 20 seconds like our trucks do. If it works, do it that way!

Well, ya shamed me into it.



You know, my dad being a diabetic has lots of hypos around. I am thinking of filling one of those with good old #2 and doing it the same way we did the radiator fluid side. Just take that screw out and fill up that side with the hypo. That way, I can tilt it around and get the air out. I wouldn't have to unhook the pressure line fitting. That fan shroud doesn't leave much room for an errant finger. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time one of my fingers got whacked by a fan either. At least this one don't have a set of plug wires or a coil to zap me, reaching across it.

Ok, TnL, Got the Prodigy on sale here. Wired the two wiring harnesses together, now all that's left is to find a place to mount the control box and try it out. What kind of TT you have? I looked at several ones, but none came with that pizza like your's did.

Mine is a 27ft stuffed with sausage and peperoni , That old dinosaur is a 81 holiday rambler. Read the Prodigy manual so you are familier with all of its functions, when it is set up right you cant even tell the trailer is behind you.
