You guys don't know what snow is! Ever hear of Lake Effect? That's where the snow comes right off lake Ontario and you can get 1 or 2 FEET an hour. The snow is a solid wall of white. We just got hammered with 18 inches on wednesday. Gosh I love this place! :p

Snow down south

Hey, can some of you northern boys send me some of the flakey white stuff? I know back home in Iowa (Mt. Pleasant), they have quite a bit on the ground for this time of year. I don't know how I am going to do it this year without snow. White beaches just aren't the same. :{

these old trucks...

man they just light up in the cold, no prob. It seems in missouri we have more ice cold weather than we do snow. It'll get down to -5 or lower in a heart beat with highs only in the lower teens, and not snow a flake. We just our first snow of the year this past week, 3 inches, and the whole city of Columbia (GO MIZZOU!) just flips out, heheh, it's funny!! cars all over the place, school cancelations, people driving 10 mph everywhere... hehehe

I don't know for the life of me what good you all see in snow and cold weather. :( My grass is still green. :D I am going to Gatlinburg over Christmas because my wife wants to ski while I sit by the fireplace but I see no good in getting cold myself. :-laf I grew up in the north but these old bones can't take that anymore. :{

I love it!! I'm a cold weather person. I love the crisp air and wintery blanket of white stuff. You can always put more clothes on when you're cold, but you can only take so much off when you're hot. I hate being all muggy and sweaty and dying of heat stroke, yuck! But the real important thing is that my cummins runs better in cold weather! Might have something to do with it being non IC... .

I happen to agree with you, but that's no reason to rub it in... . :(

I'll just have to suffer for a few more years ..... then move over... there'll be a few more snowbirds headin' your way.

jay, bring sheetrock and plywood, we'll still be needin it by then. seriously, i guess i get more done when its cold than hot, i just can't handle the extremes pictured above. . neighbors are happier when i wear a jacket than when i'm topless in the yard :eek:

I actually like the snow. I love to plow and watch it fly all over. Snowmobiling is a blast! I just wish it was 70* out when I do it! :D

Gets cold up here too,last week it was -27 below Celcius,at the 4:00am i was delivering bread to the local grocery stores/resturants/cafes etc,20 min in the truck and its like delivering bricks,drop a loaf or a pack of pita bread and it shatters or the bag breaks,freeze your hands on the wheeler,frost on the INSIDE of the truck. Job sucks in the winter,but come summer time its alright,shorts,golf shirt,tan---take the good with the bad. We don"t get as cold as Winnepeg though and we get these weather systems called "CHINOOKS",west flow air from the coast,not from the arctic,one day in the minus -20's/-30's,24 hours later its 10-15 above celcius for a few days,go figure,but people around here look forward to them. Current temp is 10celcius/6 days ago-27 celcius---CHINOOK is here for now. PS---The cold affects peoples brains too,15+ years in the business,in the minus -20/-30's and i still get people asking why the bread is "FROZEN",i just tell them the oven in the back of my truck is not working today :-laf ;) ;) Later DW

I used to tell myself that I liked it too when I lived up north and had no choice, :{ now I know better so I don't lie to myself anymore. :rolleyes: There is no way I would live anywhere again that I have to scrape anything off my windshield but bugs. :-laf

Heat Wave

It's 20 out right now up here in north central Montana. We have had a really mild winter so far. This time last year we had a long strech where it was below -40 This winter the coldest it got was -25 and that was only for a few days. This is the first winter i have had a diesel, and since i have gotten it it has only gotten down to 15F.

We just don't seem to be able to get any winter here. Was up in northern Alberta last Thurs & it was -30 C froze the ends of two fingers. 2 nights ago was in the high foothills & didn't even need a jacket ( about +2 C ) 33F. Freezing rain today @ 0 C. Guess I will go drill some holes in the ice on Sunday & rip the lips off a few trout. Only 2 months till we start thinking about spring, 4 months we can get the boat in the water. Time to move to Texas
