In the past -20 weather we had I made a 400 mile trip. With the heater controls on hot and the setting on heat (blow at my feet) I had the misadventure of getting a F-ing cold draft on my right foot (seemed to be coming from louvered air intake down there). My left toes froze... How can I stop this from reoccuring without using duct tape?

It sounds like you are getting cold air through the kick panel vent, located just to the left of the parking brake lever. I assume you already tried to close the vent with the lever on the kick panel?

Lever on kick panel? I looked for one to no avail - I bet it is open and the lever got kicked off.

Oh well, I'll get another at the local pick yer part.

Thanks.

Not really a lever, more like a thumb tab in the center of the vent grill so you can slide it forward and back. Also, you didn't say if you were getting good heat from the lower heater duct. Those doors are vacuum and sometimes they don't swing completely open. Best access to the door linkage (top of heater box) is in through the glove box opening. Hope this helps,
Jones

Yup, I found it - it was almost closed but open enough to freeze my left pinky toe. It's closed now :)

I haven't had this truck all that long and haven't figured out all the ins and outs yet.

Thanks,

Scott.

You'll have to beat me to the yard UncleBilly. #ad
If I haven't already been there!!! The tab on mine broke off last summer, just got brittle, I need it since my AC hasn't worked in 3 years.
